Testing the Hardware Key
A valid hardware key must be connected to the computer before access can be gained to TIS2000 applications such as SPS.
How do I register my TIS2000 hardware key?
All hardware keys are ready to use. If you have recently purchased a new hardware key, it must be registered according to standard procedures for the hardware key to ensure correct operation in the future. All sold but unregistered hardware keys are regularly turned off after a certain period.
How can I test my hardware key?
If you are not sure that your hardware has been registered, you can see whether the serial number is included in this table of unregistered hardware keys or go to the menu 'Configuration -> Hardware Key registration'.
The following messages will indicate the status of your hardware key:

A valid Hardware Key Code already exists! |
The hardware key has been registered in TIS2000 and is active. Access to safety-related sections is enabled. |
No Hardware Key was found. |
Make sure the hardware key has been configured for the port being used (see details) before concluding that the hardware key is defective:
- Check the connection between the PC and the hardware key.
- Run the program wrsn.exe found in the directory ~cosids\data\diag. This program will either return the serial number or an error message. If a serial number is returned then the hardware key is functioning properly. If an error message is returned then there is something wrong with the hardware key.
