Checking external devices

In the event of a communication problem after starting TIS2000 applications that use external devices such as SPS and downloading software, take the following steps:

An example of an external device is Tech2!

 

  • Select -> Configuration -> IO handling
  • Then select the device and press 'Test'

The following message will give an indication of the fault and a proposed solution:

Device driver test unsuccessful!

'name of device' returned 'Connection to device failed!'

  • Device not connected

·  Connect the device and carry out a new test.

  • Device connected to wrong port

·  Change the port configuration of the device by going to 'Properties' and changing to another available port.

  • Device not ready for communication.

·  Turn on the device and try again.
